- Project scheduling - Produce and control detailed event production and marketing schedule
- Financial management - Control finances in line with agreed budget
- Client reporting - Set up process to provide reports on progress against schedule and budget
- Venue search / evaluation - Locate appropriate venue, inspection, price comparison, value and suitability assessment
- Venue management - Handle pre-event preparation, total on-site management on the day
- Catering suppliers - Organise food and refreshments with venue or outside caterer
- Speaker sourcing - Source and book speakers, manage them pre-event and co-ordinate on the day
- AV / technical support - Coordinate set design/build, sound rigs, lighting, data and video projection
- Documentation - Produce speaker papers/slides, event handbooks, delegate packs, badges
- Back office administration - Set up and staff telephone helpline, online registrations, email accounts
- Delegate registration - Take delegate bookings, send joining instructions, raise invoices, collect fees
- On-the-day management - Register delegates, manage contractors, time-keep, troubleshoot
- Filming / photography - Organise location filming, press photography, audio recording (see video systems)
- Press desk - Set up interviews, co-ordinate photo calls, liaise with journalists
